Manjira is musical instrument which is a component of dance music and bhajans. It is known by many names like jhanj tala Challam mondira etc. It is basically a set of small cymbals. It is a very ancient instrument; is traditional made of bronze for the required sound for puja purpose. They produce a rhythmic tinkling sound when struck together. The sounds pitch varies according to their size weight and the material of their construction. A player can also adjust the timbre by varying the point of contact while playing. Size = 80 mm diameter
